Signs to help make the neighborhoods better and cut back on health hazards.
Part of the money should be used to fund a local program to create high quality durable signs that can be put up around the neighborhoods to draw attention to important public health messages. Two essential ones that we should start with would be signs telling people to clean up after their dogs and calling attention to the health risks posed by dog poop (especially to children). A second campaign could be "Don't feed the rats!" encouraging people not to drop take out food on the street, contributing to the rat population. Maybe the same group could fabricate some more trash cans too? Connect both campaigns to the trashcans, perhaps (e.g. a sign that says "Don't feed the rats!" with a picture of a rat but have it hanging above or on a trash can. The whole thing could probably be done through an existing non-profit (maybe the steel yard?)
